I peeled and cored them, then braised them in a little bit of water; contrary to the recommendations of the intrawebs, I didn't add any sugar, and they still came out sweet enough (and even caramelized a little).
They would be fantastic with cheese or game, I think, but since I don't have either of those on hand right now I'm eating them for breakfast.
I love the texture: a bit grainy, like guavas.
