There were costumed performers from Happenstance Theater -- a bee, a butterfly, a fox, a blackbird, a rabbit -- doing a bit of street performance and handing out cards.

So I have that box, but I might give away the hand sanitizer -- I hate hand sanitizer, as it has exactly the same sticky texture as BBQ sauce, and only use it when there's no way to wash my hands.

I also went to the hardware store and picked up some vegetable seeds -- mostly tomatoes, but two kinds of tomatillos, an eggplant variety, and North Georgia Candy Roaster squash. I also got sunflower seeds for my birdfeeder, a new jar for my pie weights, a pair of small bowls, and replacement Brita water filters.

I talked briefly with one of the farmers and this year's pear harvest was extremely low (like, two cases brought to my local market because that was all they had); it's probably already over for my area because of a frost earlier in the year killing the pears on the branch. We also didn't get anything in the way of apricots this year as we had a frost the week they were blooming. I'm hoping we at least get persimmons; one of the other farmers said she has actual American persimmons, which I think I've seen maybe once before at a market.

I ran into ellen_fremedon again; it's nice to see friends in real space every so often. I hope to be able to do it on purpose, now that the weather is cooling down and you don't risk heat exhaustion just being outside too long.

Also, I went to the hardware store to pick up some new oven mitts and a petunia plant. I was hoping to get the yellow-striped purple ones I saw last weekend, but they didn't have any left. They did, however, have this gorgeous black petunia, just in time for Decorative Gourd Season!

I did get asked where I get my dresses today; I was wearing the cotton voile sundress in a tropical jungle print. I should look to see if eShakti has more voile dresses available, as it's a good fabric for the 90+ (in F) days that we get in summer here.
