Local farmers' market, Saturday morning

(Is it "farmer's market" or "farmers' market"? I don't know. There are definitely farmers plural there.)

Today, I arrived too late to buy any wild rabbit, which had been my plan. Woe!

But the Cox apples were labeled "very crisp", and I picked ones that felt iron-hard and rough-skinned. And I got my usual "box of misshapes" (pay much less and fill your own carton from the tray of cosmetically-imperfect eggs). And there were beef shanks for making osso bucco!

Even in the grey drizzly rain, a winner is I.

I go with farmers' market, it's the market belonging to/for farmers to bring their wares.

I've not had Cox apples. I'm taking it that they're sweet for eating out of hand?
